O primeiro contacto que tive com a Fórmula 1 foi através do Senna.
Eu tinha 5 anos. Cheguei a casa depois do meu primeiro dia de aulas do último ano do infantário e contei ao meu pai que tinha um colega novo chamado Airton (sim, com i e não com y). E o meu pai logo disse “Como o Ayrton Senna?” e essa foi a primeira vez que ouvi esse nome que se tornaria tão importante para mim anos mais tarde.
Enquanto cresci sempre soube que o Ayrton tinha sido um piloto de Fórmula 1 e o predileto do meu pai mas não sabia muito sobre quem ele realmente era.

O ano passado, eu decidi começar a ver Fórmula 1 então lá fui eu perguntar ao meu pai como funcionava a F1 e o meu pai logo me disse, “Para entenderes a Fórmula 1 tenho de te contar sobre o Senna.” E foi assim que naquele mesmo dia ele contou-me a história dele e da rivalidade Prost & Senna, durante uma curta viagem de carro da minha casa até à minha esteticista. Eu lembro-me de que assim que voltei para o carro, insisti que ele me contasse mais sobre a época de ouro da Fórmula, e ele assim o fez.
Assim que chegamos a casa ele fez-me ver o documentário, e pronto, o meu destino estava selado, eu tinha me tornado muito fã do Ayrton. 

O meu amor pelo Senna só cresceu desde então e hoje, 30 anos depois da sua morte no fatídico 1 de abril de 1994, eu relembro-o e sei que a vida é uma coisa estranha porque é possível sentir falta de alguém que morreu antes de eu nascer.

Two hours and a half of absolutely nothing.

This movie is extremely shallow and does nothing to properly characterise any of its characters.
I know the same thing I knew about Elvis two and a half hours ago.

Wasted my time watching this because I wanted to understand why so many people were angry at the Priscilla movie which is without a doubt so much better than this. 
Austin Butler’s performance isn’t bad but I can’t find it in myself to like it either, Jacob Elordi is a better Elvis not only because he actually looks and sounds like Elvis, and not some impersonation of him, but also because Elvis actually feels like a real person in Priscilla (2023).

I also have to criticise the character of Priscilla in this. She is shallow and one dimensional. There’s nothing to her, the performance Olivia DeJonge is actually good and she gave her best with the script she was given. However it’s still not good enough to make her character feel real. I know this movie isn’t about Priscilla but she was a big part of Elvis’ life and there’s no exploring of their relationship, there’s nothing, absolutely nothing. 

I loved the Baz Luhrmann movies I had seen so far, Romeo + Juliet (1996) is a big part of my personality and one of the many reasons I absolutely love cinema, and so is Moulin Rouge! (2001). I love his style of filming and the craziness of his movies but I can’t help but hate it in this one. This feels like a two and half hours movie trailer. There’s no substance there’s nothing going on.

Also would like to say that the Doja Cat needle drop threw me off, it’s bad, it’s stupid and bad.

Honestly I can’t comprehend how this got so many Oscar nominations. It’s really not a good movie, and Babylon deserved to be nominated instead of this and the only reason it wasn’t is because it’s a movie that shows the reality behind Hollywood. And because the academy loves to glorify Elvis. And that’s also the reason why Priscilla got no nominations! When it has better acting, better directing, better production, and is overall a better film than whatever this is.

Hope people aren’t too angry about this review and if they are I don’t care this is bad.
