This movie is, by my usual standards, indefensible.
There is a rape played for laughs. This speaks for itself as inexcusable, but let me make it clear that making light of rape contributes to the systemic misogyny that makes rape such a common occurrence, so misunderstood (in that consent is misunderstood and boundaries are constantly crossed), and so destructive. In the same scene, a chicken is killed (actually killed), and was apparently eaten by the cast afterward, which is at the very least unhygienic. It's definitely also animal cruelty. This, too, is played for laughs.
Rape and sexual assault are also used repeatedly for shock value and humor throughout the film. The treatment…
