Our latest customization tool gives Patrons the ability to facelift cast and crew images to give their faves the most glam looks.

A little over a year ago, we introduced our feature that allows Patron members to change the posters for any film on Letterboxd, platform-wide or in individual lists, reviews and even in their profile four favorites. In that time, just shy of eleven million poster swaps have occurred and that number will keep growing as studios continue to deliver gorgeous alternate one-sheets. (This recent May December beauty is a personal favorite.)

Ever on the lookout for new ways to allow members to let their personalities shine and adapt their Letterboxd experience in accordance to their taste, our development team has been tinkering away and is ready to unleash our latest tool: photo swaps for cast and crew images.

If you’re a Patron member, head to the cast or crew page of anyone you’d like (such as Greta Gerwig’s) and select the Change Image option in the menu below their picture. There you can select your favorite look, with options provided by TMDb. This feature is also available in the overflow menu in our iOS app and via the paint-roller icon on Android—make sure to grab the latest version in each case.

Want to gussy up your Al Pacino page with this insatiable image of young Al in a beanie? Now you can! Don’t you want to see Willem Dafoe with this little mischievous grin anytime you check out how many films of his you’ve seen? Naturally you do. We all get to change our outfits every day, so now you can afford your favorite stars and crew members that same luxury by switching out their looks for peak performance. Let Barbara Stanwyck serve maximum femme fatale realness. Choose your favorite Viola Davis headshot. The choice, dear Patrons, is now yours.

Shout-out to David, Hyung, Tom and Jonty for their work developing this feature, to Ben for the animation above, and to our wider crew for their trusted feedback. Most of all, thanks to the Letterboxd community for their support and suggestions on what our team can get up to in their workshop next.

We welcome feature suggestions—be sure to search for a topic in case it’s already under consideration.
