    In concert. Transcendent.

Think I'm cursed around these SV movies though: ATSV opening night saw my friends and I followed home afterwards and this review is being written from a lyft back home 2 hours from the venue because my car got fucking stolen. My dinner and the book my sister gave me for my birthday were in there. San Jose gets a 1/2 star. Sorry Julia.

On an unrelated note, I'm taking applications to form a group of spider-themed…

How do you breathe new life into a franchise seven movies deep? By giving the penultimate installment over to Death.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is bookended by it, opening with Charity Burbage's echo of "Severus, please" and closing with Dobby's utterance of "Harry Potter". Yet no other speaking character dies on screen in the time between those moments; instead of immature attempts at shock by ruthlessly killing characters off, there's only the examination of the losses…

Totally insane at points (every time Wolverine is Australian, the choice to have him and Pyro in a conversation that sounds like it's between one guy and himself, Professor X moving his paralyzed legs on the table), featuring a Logan with no sign of redeemable qualities, and revolving around a MacGuffin so undefined it literally doesn't come together by the end when it looks like something that should. But most of the team is a fun bunch that we don't…

Very sad to report I found this...a little boring at times. Pulled out an overall worthwhile feeling when the last act picked up though.
Just wondering why so much backstory was left till so late when there was so little character established in the present day for me to invest in. But there are flourishes in action and direction here that kept me going when my interest in the actual story lulled. And some solid jokes at appropriate moments.
Literally the first thing I thought when watching that scene was "I wonder how Patel phrased this bit of direction for them" lmao

Everything Everywhere All at Once shrugs off the bounds imposed by containing a story to one universe, and while it's at it, barely falls short of inventing a new visual component of the filmmaking repertoire; yet even with all the multiversal exuberance on display, the film never strays from the familial relationships that underlie the fantastical conflict. So charged are they with an absurd range of sentiment that they effortlessly carry our investment into every universe we discover.

    My goodness,…
