“I kick ass for the lord!”

This movie is unbelievably goopy and gross (the practical effects went CRAZY!!) but it’s also so absurdly funny. It has a ninja priest kicking zombie ass, a baby being beat up in the park, a man trying to domesticate zombies to keep in the house and feed custard, romance… idk what more you could want!

I love when things are ridiculous and absurd , and this is very much that!

Watched with the fam for Mother’s Day bc it’s one of my mom’s favourites !

John Williams’ score is so magical!!

I need to do a deep dive into Carlo Rambaldi’s filmography because he was a wizard …

    The Wasp Woman

This felt like the longest 60 minutes ever …

Not enough wasp woman to make this remotely interesting. Props to her for being a girlboss in 1959 though I guess.

this was... poorly executed! the two storylines did not intersect well and could have been two different movies! like the mass grave site excavation storyline was not given enough time to be fleshed out or meaningful imo.

also! why did she just give up the baby?? like even though it wasn't her biological baby, it was hers?? but like.. then she just got pregnant with another so it was somehow ok?

ALSO whyyy did they date?? they had 0 chemistry?? and more importantly ana was a teenager no? very weird and unnecessary!

As I left the theatre I heard: “I got it! It was about toxic masculinity” and I feel like that about sums it up.

The main character was not a person, she was just a victim of the men around her. And sure you could say “well the movie is about how men reproduce toxic masculinity in other men” and while that may be true, it didn’t make the movie more interesting because it really was quite dull with no…
