The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002
First off, the battle for Helm's Deep is one of the greatest action set pieces ever. Even on my third watch, it is visceral. Just... Wow. The acting, the technical elements. Really, that goes for the trilogy as a whole.
"Po-tay-toes? Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew?" My dad and I have probably quoted this line more than any other in the series.
Unlike Gollum, I will not turn down fish and chips.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
Phenomenal film, just as good as I remembered. I picked up on more of the practical effects wizardry this time. So much stuff with perspective and miniatures in here! Careful, clever, daring filmmaking at its finest. Almost everything looks real, even in 2024.
Every performance is a masterclass. No wonder this trilogy is an Oscar winner. I am particularly charmed by Sir Ian McKellen in the first entry. Gotta love Gandalf. Cate Blanchett draws you in right from the start…

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2023
While the plot is nothing special— it's cheesier than a New York slice —Mutant Mayhem is a good introduction to TMNT.
Bold animation, stellar voice cast, but just a couple plot contrivances... but overall, I thought it was pretty good.
