Alright Letterboxd, let's talk. 3.2? Really?
I'm sick of defending Newsies, so this will be the last time:
We live in an age where we criticize Disney for playing it safe. For giving us cliche fan service films. The most popular films nowadays (and, one could argue, always) are sequels, franchises, reboots, and adaptations. We pretend to champion originality but the truth is—we vote with our dollar at the box office and not with our mouths or internet rants.

Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times 2018
100% written by a wealthy white guy. Cures racism and homelessness in the span of a fifteen minutes all by throwing a smile and some money at it.
Gross that it won the Manhattan Shorts. Easily the worst film in the lineup.

I wanted to go on an adventure. It was a simple wish. I’ve been couped up social distancing/self-quarantining for almost two weeks. I went to my Letterboxd accoutn and clicked on my watchlist—home to some 700-plus films—then sorted out the adventure ones that were streaming and then hit play. I didn’t read the description. I didn’t even know for sure it would be animated. I had absolutely no idea I was about to get Isle of Dogs meets Watership Down…
