It’s absolutely ridiculous that this doc is still relevant today, and nothing much has changed in the past 25 years except for more shootings and more gun violence. Moore makes good counter-arguments most of the time and effortlessly points out the insanity of this whole issue. I had no idea Charlton Heston was a piece of shit though, bit of a shame. What a fucked up nation we live in, and unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to change any time soon unless we can all come to some sort of compromise.

Hamlet 1948
It’s great from a filmmaking perspective, but I’ve just never cared for Shakespeare’s writing in any form. The plots of the plays are always interesting but his style of writing is so atrociously nonsensical and hardly understandable by the modern person. It’s like listening to gibberish. Take a Shakespearean play, rework the dialogue for a modern audience, and you have a decent film. I just can’t enjoy something that I can’t even stand to listen to.

Captain America: The First Avenger 2011
I will admit that I think the nostalgia of having seen this with my dad in theaters in 2011 will always lean me towards a more positive view of this film. I think this was the first MCU I ever watched too, which then really got me hooked on this franchise. I will also admit that there are a lot of (little) things wrong with Cap's debut, from the editing to the CGI to the final fight. But you know what? I don't care. I still like this movie and consistently find it to be enjoyable every time I see it.

My ears are bleeding, my eyes have melted, and 10 minutes after leaving the theater my heart rate is still well above 100 bpm.
Masterful. Just absolutely thrilling.

We must accept the fact that not one single person will ever look as cool as Paul Atreides riding a motherfucking sandworm.
Trust the hype, trust the rave reviews. This is and probably will remain THE cinematic experience of the year. Please please please go see this on the biggest and best theater screen possible.
Denis has crafted an incredibly tense and viciously powerful sequel…
