This movie means a lot to me. My cousin recommended it to me when it came out, and at 11 I didn’t really understand it but I remembered all the details that I could. The directing is unique enough that even in my late 20s, with only one rewatch in the interim, stills and shots are instantly recognizable.
A beautiful story about how no matter how much society has seemingly turned every aspect of our lives into win/lose game just being yourself is more important than anything else.
“A real loser is someone who's so afraid of not winning he doesn't even try.”
