i did not expect to like this at all but i was so incredibly moved by this. they show how ron kovic went from the all-american boy next door who was raised on & seduced by the false principles of patriotism, was lied to, and then abandoned by his country. this is the best performance of tom cruise’s career.

there should be a letterboxd list of shitty-to-mid biopics of iconic musicians that were created in collaboration with that musicians estate/camp so they skip over the less than savory aka most interesting parts of that artists life to instead just play a highlight reel of that artists’ greatest hits because their family gave them the licensing rights and that were only made so some actor can get award nominations
