Any Given Sunday 1999
Any Given Sunday has some weird football. It’s clear almost immediately that the filmmakers are not aiming to create a faithful depiction of actual games of American football, but more a caricature of the intensity and emotions that exist on the field. Sports coverage, in movies and in life, tends to start as wide as possible and get smaller - establishing shots of the stadium, crowd shots, commentators, wide shots showing the whole play, and occasional closeups.
