Le Giornate Del Cinema Muto 2020. Great fun comedy Greek Neo-Realism (before neo-realism of course) film of Athens.
The Golden Madonna 1949

One of the 75 BFI’s Most Wanted (lost films). (Found in 2014/2015?)
The Golden Madonna has its fun aspects but it’s really drawn out to the point you just want the whole bloody thing to end as quickly as possible! The first 30mins are great but when the film introduces Capri into the equation it does get bogged down. However the sense of Calvert’s character intensions on the island is interesting.
Phyllis Calvert is entertaining throughout and you just wish that Michael Rennie’s character is less 2D. Cinematography is very good and the locations are perfect.

I just wish the story could’ve be far more adventurous.
