Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2024
Appreciated more of the references now that I've watched all of the original five ape films, and watching the film in the cinema remains incomparable to the laptop (even if other audience members snapchat stills throughout). However, so many of the characters here are undercooked for such a serious 2hr 25 minute film, and video game-esque storytelling merely used to set up what's to come.
Great set pieces that I enjoyed during but now that I've left ape mode I'm a bit underwhelmed.
