Good pulpy fun, with a sumptuously sexy atmosphere. Until...
I enjoyed it in the moment, but if the point of the film was to confound and frustrate us, the audience, I don't think it was enough. I wish it were toothier, meaner, darker - really committed to the unexpected change in direction. I left feeling amused but not wholly satisfied.
