I may be a cold war media enthusiast but I am also a contrarian which means that I had never before seen this very popular film! was surprised by its soft moments, its greek tragedy structure and the script’s low hum of humour. some all-time great 80s east german faces too, somehow sourced in the mid-00s.

spent large chunks of this trying to figure out if he had a chest tattoo of the radiohead handshake figures but it turns out it was just two skeletons. if this had a cinema release I would bet on annie getting a golden globe nomination
