There's quite a Jarmusch flavour to Jalali's latest. London film festival 2022, #10/15
Really really loved this. Syrian director Soudade Kaadan with a beautiful film, laced with magical realism. Set in the later part of the war in Syria, it's hopeful and funny but not unserious. an incredibly good way to make a war-set film

A lovely animated feature film with a very human story (which was written by Haruki Murakami, the author of Norwegian Wood). Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman has a fun magical realism twist to it, and it actually made me wish that I could go on a life-or-death quest with my anthropomorphized frog friend. 🐸
