Episode 6: Guy Richie’s The Covenant (2023)

The Covenant follows U.S. military sergeant John Kinley, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal, and his interpreter Ahmed, played by Dar Salim, as they battle the Taliban in Afghanistan.

After a rocky start to their partnership, Ahmed proves himself loyal and valuable to Kinley, and the two develop a fierce but complicated bond. Upon uncovering a Taliban arms cache, Kinley's troupe is ambushed, and only he and Ahmed survive, escaping on foot.

Episode 4: Don't Make Me Go (2022)

That all changes, however, when Max finds out he has terminal cancer due to a tumor near his brain.…

You go through a lot of growth and life experiences in 10 years. It's been that long since my last watch of this film and those life experience definitely give me a different appreciation and understanding of a layered film like this.

Is it too much to ask for a visually stunning independent film that doesn’t have an ick narrative? Anna Paquin carried this whole movie on her 10 year old back and probably had no idea what it was even about.

Currently have images of Harvey Keitel’s bare butt burned deep into my brain.
