When the Ipswich Film Theatre was constructed in 1975 the only screening option was 35mm, running single reels on classic Westar projectors (with the addition of a Fumeo 16mm projector). In the following years the projection room was further equipped with a DigiBeta player, an 8mm projector, some of the earliest Blu-ray players and an NEC digital projector in the UK's initial digital rollout.
