PLANET OF THE MAYPES IS UPON US!
If you haven't heard 70mm podcast is covering only ape movies in May, and what a deranged lineup they have decided on, never been done.
1. Planet of the Apes (1968)
2. Planet of the Apes (2001)
3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
4. Rise of The War of The Reign Of The Kingdom Of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
What a lineup and we are just getting started.…
Musicals back on the menu! Is this the most beautiful musical of all time? Are Christopher Plummer and Christopher Lee not the same person? Is the key to happiness becoming an ex-nun and falling in love with a retired navy captain?
70mm podcast answers all these questions and more in a very special supporter selected* episode.

Dany's pick for 1960s month, Batman! The greatest batman...? Many are saying but remaining in the shadows. The hosts reveled in the camp, the 1960s feel (ala James Bond), the graphic innuendos between Bruce Wayne and Ms. Kitka.
They also talked about the hottest movie of 2024 so far, Alex Garland's Civil War! Could our pal Al possibly bounce back from Men? Also we announced the patron vote result for our final episode of 1960s month.

The supporter only cage episode of Punch-Drunk Love is here!
Where were you when Adam became the sandman? Looking at listeners reviews sounds like PTA was a dealer giving film lovers their first dose of cinema with PDL. "Life-changing" "personality-affirming" "he's me fr fr" "100% not for me" all real reviews. wait what? people don't like this movie? a HOST doesn't like this movie? episode spoilers
Ok folks buckle up somewhat of a bumpy ride but we will get through this together. the anger, the punch, the drunk, the love, the baby keyboard thing, it's all here.

This time around I was really blown away by the opening act of the astronauts making their way through the Arizona desert. Those on location scenes really elevate the film. Always love when real places in the world look like a different planet.
Taylor is such a jerk, and Charlton Heston plays the jerk so well. He gives off Machiavelli vibes so it all couldn't have happened to a more suitable guy. How about the racial subtext? anyone else ever…
Find someone who looks at you the way I look and Christopher Plummer's hair. I can’t wrap my head around this guys life. If I walked out onto my veranda overlooking the river and alps and my seven children were spontaneously singing in harmony that their smoking hot nun governess taught them I would turn into a puddle.
Perfect movie except being 100 minutes too long. Next on 70mm!
Absolutely gobsmacked by this.
One of the most gorgeous movies I've ever seen. Took every ounce of willpower not to feverishly lick my LG OLEG. (Not an ad.) Don't even understand how so many modern movies look like total dogshit and yet 60 years ago Robert Wise and Ted McCord put a film camera outdoors in broad daylight and it's like the second coming of christ in my basement. The lighting when the Reverend Mother sings "Climb Every Mountain" are…
The Baroness: “Somewhere out there is a lady who I think will never be a nun.”
