Itโ€™s not just a great film, itโ€™s unlike any other film Iโ€™ve seen. At times it feels like a sharply observant play, at time it has an almost novelistic scope, but it always looks cinematic and has moments of great beauty and awfulness. I laughed a lot but felt emotionally wrecked at the end.

John Earlyโ€™s performance is so funny that very few people seem to mention how weighted it is with sadness. Hammelโ€™s movie gets so much universality out of its specificity. Sheโ€™s a major new talent.

A brilliant screenplay from a major talent. Really refreshing point of view. Like nymphowars, mixes comedy styles effortlessly. Iโ€™m honestly pretty blown away

I was the boom op and this is the best crew out there, I loved everyone that worked on this movie and Iโ€™m so happy to see it done. I will never forget that month in that dusty brownstone. Please go and see this you will have fun!

โ€œWell, I wanted to kill myself, and it helped a littleโ€

Gonna be thinking about this one for a while. Genuinely refreshing to see queer/trans people who are pieces of shit. Also one of the funniest movies Iโ€™ve seen in a while. Always sunny but everyone is gay.

The bewilderment of the early days of COVID is given a manic queer twist in Theda Hammelโ€™s propulsive, brilliantly discombobulating comedy set in Brooklyn in the summer of 2020. Feeling the sting from a recent separation from his husband, Terry (John Early) is doing his due, รผber-masked diligence to watch over his nephew Bahlul (Qaher Harhash), a Moroccan male model who is staying with Terry while nursing a broken leg. Meanwhile, Terry is fearful thatโ€ฆ

Glad weโ€™re all out of the โ€œletโ€™s just make a Covid based movieโ€ era so now everyone who tackles the awkward isolating and hostile moment in time with a resounding freshness.ย

Somehow this is might be the most accurate portrayal of post 9/11 American culture Iโ€™ve seen in quite some time. Even in NEW YORK CITY people who youโ€™d think are progressive are LGBT-InQonsiderate when it comes to race and backgrounds, especially from the middle eastern territories as if theyโ€ฆ
