This is no joke the most walkouts I’ve ever seen by a huge margin. Probably about 1/3 of the theater had emptied out by the time the credits hit. Sasquatch Sunset is guaranteed to be appreciated by a select group though, it’s certainly a brave swing that uses its meandering nature doc-like format to create absurd humor and eventually some earnest commentary. Sometimes it works! But I couldn’t quite get on the wavelength despite appreciating the inherent insanity of the entire movie being famous actors, yes, fucking and shitting in sasquatch suits, in large part because this is a classic example of a good short film idea that feels gruelingly stretched to reach feature length. It was fun trying to figure out who was who just based on their eyes though.
