    Drive-Away Dolls

    ★★★

Uneven but still entertaining crime-dy directed by that singular Coen brother that's also one of the Skarsgard brood.

You don't mind the stop-and-start nature because Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan carry you through the dead spots.

Qualley's accent is a hoot. Viswanathan remains deadpan genius.

Struggles to fill its (barely) 80 minutes and there are times it feels like the first episode of a series on that streaming service you forgot to cancel and now you're on the hook for…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

After 4 films in the past 300 years, you know the structure of what's going to take place during a Scream movie, if not who the killer(s) are necessarily.

Succeeds in bringing new characters into the mix while not milking the legacy characters more than they need to be to serve the movie.

Solid kills. Some fresh banter. What you want from a Scream movie and nothing more.

You know what you're getting into by now.

    You wish more movies…

The Talented Mr. Ripley and Purple Noon are two of my favorite films (I haven't seen The American Friend enough to make a judgement) so to see an adaptation by Steven Zaillian played by Hot Priest? Sure.

As you'd expect from Netflix, the 8 eps are stretched out and 6 would have been fine. Scenes that would normally have been cut are left in because who cares, it's Netflix. There's about and hour in the entire series of walking up…

Ever since Abigail dropped, this 2011 vampire ballerina nugget from the French-Ext guys that did Inside (one of my personal favorite horror movies) has been making the rounds.

Unsettling more than actually scary, but more than enough shots of gore to keep you sated. You want French vampires, you get them. You want excellent examples of ballet dancing...watch another movie.

The ending may leave you with more ????s than WTFs but it's barely 90 minutes long.

    The Pale Blue Eye

    ★★

A life-sappingly boring horror/police procedural that makes you wonder what's happening in Christian Bale's life that he did this and Thor: Love and Thunder in the same year.

Blink if you're under duress, Christian Bale.

This movie took 91-year old Robert Duvall out of bed. W...t...f.
