Old Joy is so quiet yet so poignant and affecting. There is so much soft emotional tension that is almost entirely unsaid. The heartache that comes with the inevitable change of time, place and relationship. The writing and framing of these characters is so subtly genius and communicative that heavy dialogue just isn't necessary. You might relate to Mark or Kurt more than the other and think one is in a superior place in life, but the fact is, they are just in different places. And while that is sad, it is actually okay and just the way life goes.

Strangers on a Train 1951
That shot of Bruno staring at Guy amongst the tennis crowd whilst everyone else’s head swings back and forth like a mii in wii sports is FREAKIN GLORIOUS.
