Christopher Abbott is criminally underrated and this may be his best performance yet (wish the script was… a bit sharper though)

I started rewatching some of Everything Everywhere All at Once last night at like 1 AM and found myself accidentally staying up for the next two hours simply because this movie just sucks you in right from the start and never lets up until the final frame and my god I just love it so much

(Also lol at anyone saying Michelle Yeoh “doesn’t do enough to win Best Actress.” This is one of the most original roles I’ve ever…

Still my least favorite of the Best Picture nominees - one of those movies where I can too clearly see and feel the creator pulling the strings to push the plot forward and convey his “themes” (themes that will feel all too familiar to those who already know how bad men are at emoting and communicating) to ever be fully invested and immersed in the story - but when my least favorite of a line-up is still a 4/5, you know it’s a damn good line-up.

Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon (MVP) are doing incredible work here.

I’ll start with the obvious: this is a significant step up from Lukas Dhont’s monstrously manipulative debut feature Girl (which I have a whole list of issues with for… very obvious reasons, lol), and ultimately, I was quite moved by Close. The first act is fantastic, and dare I say, maybe even close (ha) to flawless? Léo and Rémi’s friendship is so fantastically realized and realistic to the point where it feels like the camera disappears and we’re merely living

After eight viewings of Avatar: The Way of Water, I can finally say I’ve spent 24 hours on Pandora.

(And if I could only watch this movie on repeat for the rest of my life, I would.)

Saw Avatar in 4DX for the first time last night (my seventh watch overall, and my first 4DX film since the 2014 Godzilla) and I’m literally sore today after being sprayed, shoved, and shook for three hours in my seat and isn’t that all we want from the movies?

(Still ∞/5 stars btw and it’ll be a long time before another movie makes me feel this way!!!)

I’ve been obsessed with the editing in Everything Everywhere All at Once since I first saw the film last spring, so it was a DREAM come true to talk with editor (and Critics Choice Award winner!) Paul Rogers and his team about how they pulled this project off.

    Give it a read here!

I can’t believe I’ve seen this movie six times and no moment has lost its magic, every emotional beat hits just as hard, and I’m still overcome with chills scene after scene after scene.

When Lo’ak and Payakan first bond with one another.

When Quaritch and his men burn the village of the first tribe they interrogate.

When Ronal’s spirit sister lets out one last wail before she’s murdered by the whalers.

When Lo’ak and the kids realize that Payakan’s…

Maybe one of the most rewatchable movies ever made??? I was absolutely obsessed with the original and saw it four times in theaters, but this was my fifth viewing of The Way of Water, and I already have a sixth watch planned for Saturday. Gotta get up to eight so I can I’ve spent 24 hours on Pandora (though I would also watch this on a loop if I could).

I’ve accepted that I not only unabashedly (and unapologetically) adore Avatar

Just as flawless (to me) the fourth time.

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to stop thinking about how the final scene makes me feel, and every time I rewatch this, I think it’ll affect me less, but somehow, it hits even harder? I think part of it is because, the more times I see Avatar: The Way of Water, the more time I spend with this family - and the more little details I pick up on…
