Maze Runner: The Death Cure 2018
HOLY HELL what an ending. I’ve loved this series so much and I’m so satisfied. Also, SOMEONE GIVE WES BALL A NEW FRANCHISE TO DIRECT BECAUSE HE’S FANTASTIC.

Winchester 2018
Not as bad as I was expecting, but still a standard, by-the-numbers horror flick. Good ideas but they weren’t explored as well as they could’ve been. Helen Mirren slays but I wanted MORE.

The Cloverfield Paradox 2018
Wow wow wow. What a come down after 10 Cloverfield Lane. I can easily see why Paramount dumped this one on Netflix. Genius marketing, incompetent execution. Gugu Mbatha-Raw was giving her all but the film itself is a merely a VERY pale imitation of Alien/Life.

Brokeback Mountain 2005
I had to rewatch this for Queer Lit and it’s JUST AS HEARTBREAKING AND BEAUTIFUL AS I REMEMBER

Fifty Shades Freed 2018
It’s a Fifty Shades movie. Y’all know what to expect at this point. Arguably the most tolerable in my opinion? P.S. Dakota Johnson deserves the WORLD for carrying this trilogy on her back.
(Also... we live in world where I rated the latest Fifty Shades movie higher than the later Cloverfield movie. 2018 is WILD.)

Black Panther 2018
What a refreshing, intelligent, and groundbreaking step forward for the MCU and the superhero genre as a whole. I really dug this movie. Minor qualms (mainly related to pacing and a few CGI scenes), but the acting was top-notch, the script was smart as hell, and Coogler delivered a suave, artistic touch. Go support this!
