Zoë Rose Bryant’s review published on Letterboxd:
i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again: nobody is making movies like alice maio mackay right now, and this might be her best yet.
i’m always looking for more holiday horror, so if you give me that and a trans final girl i’m basically already sold, but when you throw in a suspenseful small town murder mystery, some truly gnarly gore, and sly queer social commentary to top it all off, i couldn’t ask for more.
in a just world, this would be a new christmas horror classic - and as always, i can’t wait to see what alice does next (and how she inexplicably one-ups herself yet again).
