near the end when anne hathaway is flipping through channels on cable and “it’s always sunny in philadelphia” pops up on the tv and it’s literally the clip of charlie saying “milk steak”… incredible stuff

cinematically this is stunning. solid acting, tons of suspense, striking choices in framing and editing. and yet despite it all… completely lacks a point of view and rings hollow. sure it’s good, but not good enough to rest solely on a “war is bad question mark exclamation point” sensibility 🤷♀️
