This film was just— “Wow”. I don't really know how else to describe it. I usually prefer movies with straightforward narratives, but this one's different. It's like stepping into an abstract painting – puzzling yet captivating.
It’s a movie that doesn't tell a typical story. It's more like an open field where you get to make your own connections. It explores ideas of identity & self-discovery in a way that's completely up to interpretation.
The performances by Liv Ullmann & Bibi Andersson are something else. With minimal settings, they create a world where reality blurs into something deeper.
The visuals are captivating, the emotions are raw & the ambiguity is what makes it beautiful. This film breaks the rules of standard cinema, but in a way that makes it a modern classic, pushing boundaries & asking you to explore the unknown. It’s a film you’re not meant to understand but interpret in your own way & it’s one you definitely have to rewatch multiple times in the future.
