So, I caught "Dune Part Two" today, and man, it's a visual extravaganza. The cinematography is next level, but here's the thing: the story just didn't do it for me. I mean, I tried to get into it, but it felt like it was dragging on forever. The runtime was a little too long & somewhere in the middle, I found myself zoning out.
Idk, I just couldn't shake this feeling that something was missing. Maybe I was expecting too much, but the characters, for one, lacked depth. Sure, they looked cool & the acting was good, but I didn't really feel invested in their journeys.
And narratively? It was weak. The main plot-line just didn't grab me. It felt like I was supposed to care about what was happening, but honestly, I found it hard to really feel anything. There wasn't that “hook” for me, that thing that makes you wonder, or keep you engaged.
So yeah, while this film had its moments, it left me feeling like it could've been so much more. Towards the end, though, things did pick up a bit. There were some intense moments that brought me back to life. But even with that late surge, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being underwhelmed. Overall, this film is beautifully crafted & visually stunning, but narratively weak & lacks depth in its character building.
