Alright, let's talk about “Carrie” this movie was seriously ahead of its time. I mean, from its release back in '76 to now, it’s definitely changed the game for the horror genre. Now, about that color red in the climax scenes – it's like an art form, ya know? The prom scene when she finally lets go of all that built up anger & the whole scene shifts to red as she loses it, that was just 🤌🏼👏🏼👏🏼

And don't even get me started on the sound effects, it was just perfection. When Carrie goes full-on telekinetic, the sound of her abilities just perfectly synced with the action, immersing you in all the chaos & making you literally feel her power & the terror of the people it was being used on. It's like a whole new level of movie magic.

So yeah, overall this film is simply a masterpiece in the horror scene & way ahead of its time & it’s just the little things I mentioned that make it stand out for me, like the use of red during the prom scene & the sound effects when she goes ballistic… it was just simple & perfect. I can see why this films’ considered a classic & how it inspired generations of horror films. Now, initially, I was leaning towards a 4-star rating because of the weird scenes at the beginning, but after pondering a few days & considering the masterpiece that follows, I finally decided on 4 & a half star rating. This would normally be a 5 star film for me, but ya know how Hollywood works. A few pervs messed up a classic because they thought sexualizing HS aged girls was cool. What can ya do. Anyway, almost a masterpiece.
